Carrossa golf resort is raising a glass to a successful 2019 after a remarkable year of progress.
Situated near the historic town of Artà in the north east of Mallorca, the stunning five-star resort has built on an impressive opening year in 2018 with a significant rise in occupancy levels to a figure of 63 per cent covering the calendar year.
That is a jump of 17 percentage points from the 2018 figures (46 per cent) in the 76-room hotel and villas.
With the German-based Hamacher family behind the venture, there is an inclusive European flavour to the resort and increasing numbers of visitors from the UK, who have now discovered the tranquil luxury and superb gastronomy on offer in 2019.
Unlike some other Mallorca hotels, which focus on specific countries, Carrossa has a broad appeal and welcomed guests from around 20 different nations in 2019 with visitors from Germany, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Scandinavia, France, Netherlands and USA among its varied client base.
There is also variety in the types of packages and stays with its stunning 1,500m2 state-of-the-art wellness centre, built and designed to the highest specification, a key attraction.
Golfers have also taken advantage of preferred rates on some of Mallorca’s leading courses with discounted green fees and tailored packages to play the nearby courses of Alcanada, Capdepera, Pula, and Canyamel, after establishing close links since the resort opened in May 2018.
The original manor house building – dating back more than 300 years – has been converted to combine history with modern luxury, while newer facilities and suites have been sensitively integrated to the resort, which enjoys incredible views of the surrounding scenery.
Peter Hamacher, director of sales and marketing for owners Hamacher Resorts, said: “Our 2019 figures are ahead of the forecasts. September and October were particularly successful this year.
“One of the big positives for us is that we are attracting guests from so many different nationalities. That is definitely going in the right direction and, in our opinion, it adds to the whole experience when there is a broad mix of guests. Overall, we are very happy with the 2019 figures.”
After ending the season in November, the resort will be adding some new features and concepts when it re-opens for the new season in February 2020.
Hamacher added: “We are working on some new additions so we’re already excited about continuing our progress in the new season.”
